Beaver Lake Triathlon Volunteer Opportunities
Packet Handout - Pacific Bicycle
On Friday, the day before the race, racers pick up their race day packets. It will be your job to make sure that the right packet gets to the right racer and that any additional information gets to each competitor.
Time Required: 2 hours shifts from 10 am (set up) to 8 pm
Packet Handout - Race Day
Upon their arrival, racers pick up their race day packets. It will be your job to make sure that the right packet gets to the right racer and that any additional information get to each competitor.
Water Station
Placed at intervals throughout the run course and 1 before the big hill on the bike course are water stations for the safety and comfort of the competitors. You will hand out water and encouragement to all competitors.
Time Required: 8-the last racer passes the water station.
Bike Course Monitor
You will be stationed at spots throughout the bike course making sure everyone has a safe and proper triathlon. Bike course monitors are responsible for directing and cheering on the cyclists, protecting them from traffic at intersections and alerting them to course changes and obstacles. King County Police Officers Guild will provide traffic control. Monitors must keep spectators off the bike course and remove any debris in the road near their assigned area. If a cyclist goes down, monitors are responsible for directing other cyclists away from the accident. Bike course patrol or medical assistance should be contacted immediately. It is helpful to have a cell phone on the course.

Course Monitor
You will be stationed at various spots throughout the park, directing the Triathletes on the proper course.

Bike Transition Area
You will monitor the bike transition area and keep all competitor equipment safe. You will help direct competitors to the proper exits and entrances, making sure they don't mount or dismount their bike too late or too early. You will keep unauthorized personnel out of the transition area.
Finish Line
You will be removing the Champion Chip from the racer or giving them a bottle of Talking Rain Water with their Finisher's Medal at the Finish Line. This task is a great one for people with a child that can handle giving racers the bottle of water as the parent removes the Chip.
Food Preparation and Serving
Prepare and serve post race food such as yogurt, bagels, fruit, etc.
Remember! For more information on any of these volunteer opportunities Call us at 425-577-6902 or e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
All volunteers will receive a Triathlon T-Shirt. Students can earn Community Service Hours. We would like to take this time to thank all of the past volunteers and all of those who will volunteer in the future. Without you, the Beaver Lake Triathlon would not be possible.
